James Michael Scott, Jr., 84, of Wernersville, died May 29, 2012 in Phoebe Berks Healthcare.

He was the husband of the late Mary Agnes Scott for 56 years.

Born in Scranton, he was a son of the late James Michael, Sr. and Lillian (Reidenbach) Scott.

James was a graduate of St. Paul's Catholic High School, Scranton and University of Scranton.

He was employed in the trucking industry, first as a sales representative and lastly as a transportation coordinator, retiring from W.R. Grace in 1993.

James was a member of Holy Guardian Angel's R.C. Church, Hyde Park.

He served in the U.S. Navy and was stationed at Pearl Harbor after World War II.

James was the founding President for Cleft Palate Parent's Organization in Scranton.

Along with his wife, he enjoyed taking part in the Holy Six Card Club and attending activities of their grandchildren.

Surviving are two sons: James M., III., husband of Karen M. (Hoover) Scott of Exeter Township and Jeffrey W., husband of Anne M. (Shronk) Scott of Austin, TX.

Other survivors include two grandchildren: Lauren M. Scott of Philadelphia and Andrew J. Scott of Cumru Township.

A Memorial Mass will be Friday at 4 p.m. in Holy Guardian Angels Church, 3121 Kutztown Road, Hyde Park. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the mass. Burial will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: American Lung Association, 2121 City Line Road #2, Bethlehem, PA 18017-02100.
